Foreglance
Look before you tap. A scanner that checks the link first.
Coming soon to the App StoreWhy Foreglance
QR codes hide their destination — which is exactly why scammers love them. "Quishing" (QR phishing) stickers on parking meters, menus, and posters send people to fake payment pages and malware. Foreglance shows you where a code really leads and checks it before anything opens.
- Safety check first. Every scanned link is analyzed for phishing patterns, brand lookalikes, raw-IP hosts, unencrypted HTTP, hidden redirects, and known-bad domains — before you can open it.
- Shortener unmasking. bit.ly and friends are expanded so you see the true destination, and the destination is what gets checked.
- Private browsing. Links open in a built-in incognito browser: no cookies shared with Safari, nothing written to disk, every session starts clean. Or hand off to Safari — your choice.
- Save for later. Keep interesting links with a note and page title; the safety check re-runs when you come back, so you never open on a stale verdict.
- Scans more than QR. Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, and common product barcodes, with pinch-to-zoom and glare recovery for hard conditions like codes on screens.
